Just a quick follow up:
Plextor says that this drive should work with any Mac (with SCSI
capability) without needing special software. Even so, I tried a couple
of differant Apple CD-ROM extensions with no luck. Then I found a "hack"
for the latest Apple CD/DVD extension using Resedit at ResExellence which
allows this extension to access the drive. Everything seems to work now,
except that I have not succeeded in booting the computer off of that
drive. (Actually, I don't think I have found the hot-key to make OS 9.1
boot from the CD yet.)
