I haven't really used Claris Emailer, but have some comments on Eudora - especially since version 5.1.1 was mentioned. I had a lot of problems with the 5.1 on a PM 5400/180 - crashes and SLOOOOW, and couldn't open the Adress Book (well, I could, but i took about 20 minutes). Also it kept duplicating, and triplicating the items in the address book.
Solution: downgraded to Eudora 4.1. Now it works perfectly! I was silly enough to think that newest is best, but that's not so. A good advice: never upgrade your software unless you have a very specific reason to do so!
And yes, WriteNow is definitely the best word processing program ever made! Small (can even be run off a diskette!), fast and efficient. Produces small textfiles, and no need for Words cumbersome "repagination". It's true WYSIWYG, and very true to Apples User Interface Guidelines: behaves the way you expect it to, you can ALWAYS Undo, there is Balloon Help for everything, and so forth. Highly recommended! I have used it as a professional writer for ten years, and always laughed at all the troubles the poor Word-users have. Notice there has never been a discussion forum for WriteNow problems...?
Note: WriteNow doesn't work in OS 8.5/8.6, but works well with OS9. I still use it in OSX; it's worth starting the OS9-box only for that...
