I have a strange problem. I hope someone out there in Macland can help.
I have put a 7500 motherboard in a 7200 case, I have installed a daughter card( 604e I believe) from a dead 9500.
The system will not boot from any of the two harddrives that have OS 9.2.2 installed.
I t will however boot from an old Mac OS8 cd and from an older drive that has a version of OS 7.something on it.
I have a Mac OS9 install cd and it will not boot from that either.
This is not good because all the drives are formatted with HFS+ and OS 8 will not see the files on the other HD's.
How can I get this machine to boot from the other drives ?
I can't help with the 9 stuff (apart from checking the os9 CD isn't a 9.2.2 one - you may only get 9.1 on that machine without using os9helper from os9forever.com) but if you upgrade to 8.1 it can read HFS+ and let you at the files on the other drives.
The 8.1 updater is downloadable from apple at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=30345
