> Thanks, but no-go - have re-booted ad-nausea and reset the PRAM 20 times,
all to no avail. If the monitor is connected directly to the video card
during boot-up, the display works fine, even after unplugging the monitor,
reconnecting it to the KVM (probably an exaggeration to call this a KVM -
it
is labelled Data Transfer Switch) then connecting the 9600 to the KVM.
Re-booting after this reverts to raster but no display.

Which type of connector are you using (Apple or SVGA)? I find that with the TwinTurbo, if I use a monitor switch, I have to have the Mac selected as it starts up, otherwise it will not turn on the card. This is with SVGA too come to think of it. I've never used a millennium 2 in a Mac before, as all mine are PC and you can't flash them for Macs due to technical reasons. Try booting with the Mac selected (if you have a KVM with no external controls, you should still be able to do this via some keyboard shortcut.)

If this is a Mac based KVM (uses Apple video connectors rather than PC SVGA)
then it'll most likely be a sense pin issue.

Re reading you post - you say "data transfer switch" - I use one of these.
It does work fine (mine had 4 ins and one out) but you *must* select the Mac
*before* you turn it on. Macs only use a video card if they find a *valid*
monitor attached to it, otherwise they will stall at that point.

I have not followed this thread so forgive me if I am going over covered vround.

I like to look at the simple things first. If you connect the Apple video to the KVM and the KVM to the monitor do you get picture ?

Will the KVM pass video from any computer you have to a monitor ?

If not have you cleaned the KVM connector pins and sockets with electronic contact cleaner ? THOROUGHLY ?

If that doesn't work can you remove the case of the KVM and look for broken or frayed wires and loose solder joints ?

Also spray cleaner behind the switch knob ( pull it off if you can. ) Work it and respray until the action is smooth and easy.
