Both can run at 50 MHz.

On the non-Mach5s, the bus speed is a sub-multiple of the processor 
speed, hence the slightly lower than 50 MHz bus speed on those models.

Since all the Mach5s have a procesor speed which is a multiple of 50 MHz, 
all these machines operate the bus at 50 MHz.

The slowest 9600 is hte best starting point for a G3 upgraded 9600 as 
these are usually the cheapest.

No, but in general, the Kansas machines are best retained as 604evs, and 
not upgraded to G3s.

All have the very same 390 Watt power supply. The published specs on the 
later models are in error.

The same 390 Watt power supply was used in the 8600.

A "six slot edition" ZIF is probably the best one for a 9600.
