Dear All,

Just bought a 9600 300 Mac and are trying to get it to connect to the
internet.

It didnt come with a modem, so I connected it to my external Olitech
modem using the lead that I use to connect my Newton to my PC.
I imagined this lead was a normal Apple Modem/Printer port to serial
connection lead (it certainly looks like one), but the Mac will not talk
to the modem at all.

Im running OS8, the Olitech modem isnt listed but Ive tried a
selection of modems from the list but to no avail.

Is it the wrong lead or is the modem port knackered on the Mac?

Any help gratefully and greatly appreciated, Im new to the world of
Macs!

Viva la Psion!
