Steve fretted;
Question: I have an 8600/300 that is running OS 8.0
To make the move to 9.0, will that wipe out everything on my hard drive, or only if I have to go to HFS+ ?

Steve I take it that your concern is that you have no way to back up your games, email, art, mp3s and programs for which you may no longer have install disks. Been there, done that !
Well, as painful as it may seem back it up as best you can. And let the rest go. There is a lot more to come ! 2 weeks after you install OS 9 ( 9.1 , I hope ) and have reformatted to HFS+ you won't look back. And you will be glad you did it.
If you must, get on the swap list and find the cheapest way to make back ups that fits your budget.
Just have faith that you are making the right move here. -- Adrian
