While checking some connections inside my PM 7500, I noticed that my 9GB Seagate Jaguar hard drive was hot to the touch. This is the boot disk. A 4GB IBM drive that I also have installed is barely warm.
Does this sound correct, or do I have a cooling problem?
Seagate drives aren't considered hot until they melt. Seriously most Seagate drives run between hot and very hot. I have one in the lower bay of my 7500. That location doesn't have good air flow (the drive is a half height so it won't fit in the upper bay). I positioned a small fan to blow air over the drive. It was one of those little fans with the hard drive connectors.
