I once bought an 18GB SCSI (not the 10,000 revs one), an IBM, and was alarmed at the higher temp it ran at (by touch judgement compared to the 2,3 and 4 Gigers) so decided to put it in an external box with its own fan etc. It's a matter of judgement, your HD may be fine in your 7600. For peace of mind and more, an extra fan would be good. Be nice to have some numbers, what is a safe temp etc, but I reckon these would be hard to come by for all sorts of reasons... (Would someone remind us where one goes to look up past PCI discussions or archives of info material on things. Anyway, Robert, google up 7600, fans, PCI macs, cooling, extra cooling or I maybe could look up what I have of these past discussions on the PCI, such good and informed stuff I remember...)
