If you got THAT far with it, there's a great chance it'll go the rest of the
way.

to try it out, you can use as little as a i gig hard drive. Dirt cheap by
now.

The 6400 requires a special knowledge of it's disassembly. The hard drive's
up front.

I, because I love Macs, would take that chance with the machine and buy a
hard drive and install an 8.1 or earlier System and do a complete and
thorough "burn-in" test.
