Hi. I am sure this is a very basic question, but I can't seem to find the information I need and would appreciate some help in understanding what I need to do.
I have bought a HP Officejet 4215 and am trying to install the driver on my 7500 (OS 9.1, upgraded to a G3, 256MB RAM) and it tells me there is no device connected even though the system profiler shows that the HP is connected. In double checking the system requirements for the HP I notice it needs a display resolution of 800x600, but my monitor control panel only gives me one choice and that is 640x480.
Therefore, I figure I have to upgrade something or the HP will never install.
Right? I have looked in books and around the internet and can't figure out what
to do from here. My monitor is a ViewSonic E771 and is attached with a Mac
adapter that has many settings and works fine.

I should have read the last part ,more. Are there tiny dip switches on the monitor adapter ?
If so set them for the resolution you need.. In fact I think I have some viewsonic brand adapters around like that.
