Adrian: You are right. It seems as if the resolution is controled just by the adapter switch. When I change the adapter to a new resolution it then shows up in the monitor control panel as the only listed resolution. Also, all of the VRAM slots are full.
So now I have all the system requirements for the HP either met or exceeded but the HP installer still will not install. I get the same message: There is no device connected, yet the system profiler shows the HP connected at the USB port. I wonder if there is a flaw in the installer. The HP 4215 has just been out on the market a few months and the originial Mac CD installer that came in the box would not even open. I had to take it back to the store and they gave me another one out of a different box. I'll contact HP again. Ever time I have asked a question here over the years I have gotten help or suggestions.
