Sounds like PRAM problems. I have a Wallstreet II which behaves simlarly. With this machine, I have to remove the main battery and the ac adapter and let the machine rest overnight, after which I can again insert the main battery and the ac adapter, and it will again boot and operate normally. Measure the voltage on your PRAM battery. 3.68 volts is normal for a new battery out of the circuit. Perhaps 3.67 or 3.66 volts in the circuit. The rated voltage is 3.60 volts. When the voltage approaches 3.2 volts in the circuit the machine may start acting funny. When the voltage reaches 3.0 volts, the battery should be discarded, as some of the PRAM parameters will likely get messed up. The first to go usually have something to do with the defalt video mode and the default boot drive. When the parameters for the RAM begin to go, the size of RAM stick in each slot, that is, then its all over. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
