Hi folks,
Still having problems with my G4 800 sonnet upgrade to
my 9600.
The problem is lockups in both OS9 and OSX. I've been
restricting my troubleshooting to OS9 for the time
being to keep things simple. The problem is
predictable to trigger when scrolling a window.
I've done a clean install of the OS, an update of
Quicktime to 6.0.3 (which solved my poor quicktime
performance), a fresh install of the sonnet software.
I've de-interleaved RAM, I've treid swapping out RAM
modules and it doesn't seem to matter which modules
are in. They all used to work fine with my G3/400
upgrade card.
All RAM modules are 128MB EDO with controller chip
number P174FCT 163244 except one, which is of the
162244 variety.
I've re-installed the disk drivers.
I've re-built desktop.
Have not zapped PRAM
Have not turned off VM
Any thoughts?
Is it time to de-solder R-31?
Steve
