Hi,

Finally had the chance yesterday to open it up. Not the easiest thing in the world. The power plug is fixed in place along with the data cable at the rear of the unit. Managed to pull the drive out, reseat and put it all back together but no change. Could it be one of the low voltages? Now i'm sorry my multimeter is at work!

Hi all, I recently moved my 6360 from 2nd floor to basement. When i powered it back up, it failed to recognize the CD drive.

I hate it when that happens. Its possible that you just need to re-insert a power
cable that was already loose and jiggled free from the CD-ROM drive while you were
moving it. Unplug it and plug it back in. The large four-wire white plastic cable
connector that plugs into the CD-ROM drive beside the flat grey ribbon cable has the
5v, 12v and ground wires.

If the CD-ROM drive really is pooched you can replace it by asking for another one on
the Low End Mac SWAP List. They usually go for under $15.00 including postage.
