Is your 9600 still powered by a 604e processor ? If my memory serves me well, VPC does 
not like G3 processor upgrade cards. Not no-how. 
Do you have a PCI slot open for one of those Pentium-based processor cards that will 
allow you to run Windows on your Mac ??
I would avoid SoftWindows. I have a copy around here somewhere and I remember being 
underwhelmed.
I have tried VPC 4 on occasion under OS9.1 and am deeply impressed at what an elegant 
hack it it. Its not that it works well and quickly but that it works at all that makes 
it worth noting !!!
