i ws installing another PCI card in my 7300 today & i found that the HD felt very hot ~ i've replaced the original 2 gig with a 4gig that'd only fit in the drive bay below , the only place i can see to fit an extra fan is an area with holes in just behind the HD ~ sort of a window into the PCI bay , if i put an extra fan in there which way should it blow ? extract from the HD area towards the PCI slots , or blow from PCI bay into the HD area ? ,
How hot?
Some HH drives naturally run hotter than LP drives.
The 7300 has decent air flow. Make sure nothing is blocking it... Push the cables to their right places, make sure the unused pci slot covers in the back are in place. And nothing blocking the side vents.
