I am operating a 7600/G3 with 640 MB RAM. I a connected to the Internet with AOL 5.0.
It has become very difficult to surf the web with this set up. Email goes through fine, but getting connected to web sites is difficult and extremely slow.
Try clearing your (browser) caches.
I am on a dial-up modem, 56000. I don't see possible upgrade to X anytime soon. Would changing from AOL to ? be better?
AOL software is never a good thing, IMO, except for newbies. All it does is get in the way; slow things down.
If you don't use AOL's proprietary content, then there's no reason to stay with AOL. Check out local ISPs and national ISPs like Earthlink. Their semi or annual rates are often very low. If you're a low-hour type, check out Earthlink's low use accounts.
