If the case hasn't been opened for the first time you'll need a "case
spreader" (looks like an oversized sardine can key or paper clip) to
separate the case without damaging the edges. Place it face down on a towel
and tap the back case around with a wrist slap until the it gives way. The
3.6 Volt PRAM battery is mounted on the mobo so what looks like a battery
cover is just a piece of finishing.
