I am going to try this cross-post since I got no responses on the G-list. As a last resort I will disturb my perfectly running 8500 and try this card in it.

Typical of everything related to SCSI on Macs, I have found no reviews or reports of successes or failures of the firmware and driver versions for the Adaptec PowerDomain 29160 SCSI card. Adaptec offers them for download with very little info. or specific recommendation. Their Mac support knowledge base is pitiful. They offer support only if you have the code from the original package. Buy one used and you're on your own.
Can anyone share your experiences using this card on a Beige (mine's a rev 1 MT) in both OS 9 and OS X (10.2.8 preferably). Please let me know which firmware and driver version combo worked best. Any booting problems? I can not boot from this card. Two different Seagate 18 GB Cheetahs.
I know MMMV, but it's a start.
Adaptec firmware versions are 1.1 and 1.2 (mine currently has v. 1.1).
Drivers are v. 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3beta
OS X 10.2.8 has driver v.1.1 and 1.2 is available & probably comes in Panther.
Also I've seen no reports on the v. 1.3beta driver that has been out a few years.
Thanks, Mike
