You can get good used SCSI HDs (2, 3, 4, 9 GB) for next to nothing from
ebay. 1 and 2GB seem to fall from the sky... You can buy a whole Mac with
them in for less than what you are experiencing. Take a look at ebay, get
yourself a couple and put them both in for your friend, one is good
insurance for the other...
