unless you want to play mp3s on an ata disk on it - and discovers
that the 8500 motherboard starts cuttin up the sound, studdering.
That's an ATA card issue, for which most ATA card manufacturers have a
fix.
correct the only fix I discovered is called the AV optimiser which
slows down the speed of harddrives
that you need to load before playin music, but not all the pm macs
needs it, and there seems to be
no way to find out which motherboard that has the problem or not.
7300, 8500 or 7600,
if you now a better fix then please tell, because it slows and
staggers performance of the drives,
maybe I need a better card, and not an ata 66
