> Looking for suggestions on what I need to perform two tasks with my setup > which includes a 7300/180 and a 6500/250 (And a dead 8500/180) : > > 1. Play DVDs > 2. Burn CDs
Received several helpful suggestions that all require some sort of upgrade (ie: spending money). Since I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck, when I saw a $20 stand-alone DVD player (for plugging into television), I jumped on it. When I got home, I found that not only is my computer obsolete, so is my TV. Radio Shack will sell me a converter kit for $29 - over budget! However, I noticed that a non-working 8500 seems to have the proper connections - the AV connections that my two working machines lack (of course). If there's a good chance that this will work, I might try putting the 8500 back together. I'm asking if anyone has tried this? I don't need to record, just play. One other thing I've wondered about. Last time I opened the 7300, noticed inside the case a panel that suggested the holes that the 8500 has for AV connections. Could these AV components be transferred to the 7300, or is this just a form factor thing? -MarbleMyke -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
