Hope this will be a quick and easy one: I have a 7500/100 (ID 68, =
PPC604, although the system profiler shows 120 MHz, probably was =
upgraded already), that I wished to upgrade to a faster CPU.
A kind soul on the swap list sold me a 300 MHz 604e processor card, and =
during the last few days I tried to swap the cards with no luck: the =
faster one (Apple 820-0823-A, set @ 300 MHz) will not boot - no start-up = chime, no HD activity (other than the initial spin), nada. Plugging back =
the original CPU brings the 7500 back to life.

My question: is this a possible upgrade path? If yes, where did err? Do =
I need to reset the CUDA and/or logic board?

The 300 might be for a type of 9600 with a "Kansas' board, it would not work in your machine.
