[...] > How can I get the OSX'ed iBook to lof onto those OS 9 machines? > > TIA Sounds strange. First: If they are indeed G3s & G4s, upgrade to 9.2.2. Second: You have to know the machine(s) password (if any), to log on as a user. Otherwise, you can only login as a guest. As a guest, you can only access folders/disks set to be shared (in file sharing). However, given a sensible location of documents (say in the "Documents" folder), and sharing that folder, then you can add/remove files just fine, even as a guest (you just set "Guest" to be able to write and read). Third: You have to know the right IP address, and share over Ethernet. And set Apple Talk to go over Ethernet on the OS9 Macs. I habitually share two folders as a guest on my G3 in OS9 (i have long ago forgotten the dang machine password, althought it "just" takes a re-install of OS 9.2.2 to make a new, sensible one) with my Powerbook g4 running Tiger, over Ethernet (and a hub) w/o problems. Hope this was helpful! :) Peter, Oslo, Norway
