The University of Hawaii has hosted both the Sloop Nationals fall 1992 and
the PCCs in fall of 1996 and it would take some convincing to talk me into
hosting again. As for lack of interest I do believe the event(s) provide an
opportunity for some people that are to big for the dinghies to compete for a
national championship. The University of Hawaii most likely not participate
due to budgetary reasons if it is not considered to be part of the National
Championships. HOW ABOUT THOSE RAINBOWS!!!!!!! SUGER BOWL BABY!!!!!

IMPORTANT!
How does our district feel about Sloop Nationals?

MAISA is proposing to ICSA/Championships Committee to eliminate Sloop
Nationals based on the lack of interest coupled with difficulty in procuring
boats and hosting the event, not to mention the difficulties involved in
hosting the in-district qualifying events.

How does our district feel about this proposal? Let me know so I can
represent our district accurately.
