Larry, judging by all your difficulties with the My Documents folder link
on the desktop and you multiple copies of Windows folders in your C: drive
then I do heartily suggest you start fresh. The link to the My Documents
folder on the desktop is a unique shortcut, because if you go to
C:\Windows\Desktop you won't find it in the list of shortcuts there.
Windows requires a complete clean out when it begins to have difficulties
maintaining itself. So after you backup all your data, take a win98
startup disc and put it into your floppy drive, reboot your system, and
fdisk your hard drive, then reformat, and then reinstall windows98. All
this is provided you have a windows98 disc and not a restore disc.
Happy spring cleaning!
