In the wee hour of 04:50 PM 6/2/01 -0400, Rocky bequeathed such tales as these:
>Peter I downloaded VOPT and after looking through it I clicked on the Defrag
>button and walked away. Two hours later when I came back it was still
>setting in the same place. I had defragged May 19th so it was still pretty
>good condition as it was saying 1% defrag. It had indicated that it had
>moved some files on the right hand pane, but no indication it was done
>working. How can you tell what it has done and/or if it is done working?
>Help files didn't answer what I needed to know as far as I could find.

Rocky, in the left pane you see the five buttons in a "cross formation",
when the four outer buttons are greyed out then the program is running, if
they are full color then the program has finished. I just downloaded the
latest version (v6) this morning and I ran it on my 9% fragmented drive
which was completed in 7 minutes. Mind you I only have Explorer and
Systray running while I defrag. If you have version 6 then have the swap
file moved to the beginning of the drive, restart and then run defrag
again. HTH
