BlankI need help with the following problem that a friend of mine is =

<<<<<When I go to START and attempt to go thru the usual clicks to shut
off my computer, everything goes along well, and then suddenly the
"Windows is Shutting Down" appears on the screen and everything freezes
up. I can do nothing so eventually turn it off manually. Then when I
reboot my computer, a message comes up that says I have incorrectly
turned off my computer. A blue screen appears and then it goes thru the
procedure of Scanning Drive C for errors, etc. Do you have any idea what
may be causing this malfunction? I am sure it is something connected to
Windows 98 SE- but perhaps not.>>>>>>>
