Dale.......this is a real pet peeve of mine......

when you copy your pst to a new machine or installation of Outlook, the
rules move but the specified folders DO have to be reassigned......ALSO, you
have to go into the Rules Wizard and put checks back into the boxes beside
each rule so they are turned on again......I'm thinking this is the step you
missed?

Subject: PCWorks: Why do my Outlook 2K Rules only half-work?

I recently moved my outlook.pst file from C:\Windows to a secondary drive.
As expected, when I opened Outlook2000, I had to direct it to the new
location.
When I retrieved my mail from the ISP, I got Outlook messages to the effect
that Rules couldn't move such-and-such message to the designated folder.
I looked in Rules Wizard, and, sure enough, the folder names had all become
"specified folder." I changed them all "back" to the folders I wanted.

This morning, I retrieved my mail, and *everything went quietly into my
Inbox - no messages, no nothing.
Oddly, the WAV's I had associated with the different rules *did sound, so
the rules are working, at least somewhat, but they don't move the message to
the designated folders.

What's going on?
