I completely agree it's a PITA......but I think the reason behind it is that it is assumed you will be transferring the rules to a new machine which might not have the same folders so it removes that part and turns the rules off so you can set them up to work with any new folders you create......but, it makes no sense if you bring the whole pst file to the new computer becuz that brings all the folders with it I'd be curious to hear from anyone that is running Outlook 2002....did they fix this yet?
