Betty, After testing the two Whistler Beta versions of XP, I was hesitant to try the final release, but read a few success stories about the final release and opted to go for it. . .and I'm glad I did. The upgrade went very smooth and easy. I chose to install XP on a freshly formatted 2nd HD, with Win-Me on the 1st HD and a dual boot choice. Of course I had to re-install all my programs, by setting it up this way. All my programs work with XP, except my Visioneer 7600 One Touch USB Scanner, which doesn't have a driver for XP. I have a dual boot system Win-Me or XP and I feel very secure having Win-ME available with just a reboot should I encounter a problem with XP, but it runs so stable and handles all my program and Internet with ease. . .the DSL connection is instantaneous, whereas with my Win98SE and Win-ME, there is a 30-60 second delay in making connection. Thanks Ed. I was a little leery about defending Win ME as so many people seem to dislike it and they seem to think that anyone that is using it is an idiot. :) But it has worked very well for me and as they say "different OS's (strokes) for different folks". Did you have much trouble upgrading to XP? Now that is one OS that I am a little hesitant about trying to upgrade to. And I'm not into a lot of multimedia and networking. There is just one little computer and little ole me (my husband is computer-phobic). I have been reading the pros and cons of XP and have about decided to stick with ME as it does everything I need and does it well. Now that I've said that, it will probably crash and burn!
