No, it isn't. If I boot from my w98 floppy and select "cd-rom support",
I can start the "setup" programm from my w98 cd-rom. It starts pretty  
good but it happily refuses to go on while checking the "windows
registry". Only cold reset can get things going from there.

Unfortunately, I can't do that.

That's a nice solution. I can't do that due to various (external)
reasons.
