Helene, Linda, and Carole,

Well, after reading this message from Helene, I think I see the problem for
her - what she was given to work with for restoring her system.

Unlike many computer companies that supply the original Windows CD, and you
would use SFC, when it is a company that supplies a backup CD to restore
the system to original install as when it was made in the factory or
similar, you are not absolutely sure of what you are getting, when compared
to a regular install. All you can be sure of is that if you use the restore
CD, the system will end up as it was at the factory right before going out
the door.

Unfortunately, I have seen some systems where trying to do a normal SFC
file restore or compare becomes virutually impossible when all you have is
these backup system CDs to work with. In fact, with some system, you dont
even get SFC to work with since you dont have the original Windows CD to
work with, for restoring as you normally would.

I can't be absolutely sure if this is the case, but it sounds very much
like it could be the case. If it is the case, then the solution might be
for one of us to either supply her with the file needed or direct her to a
location where she might need to download it from.

Ralph

Hi Linda and Carole..
I just went and followed the instructions. and it still wont' allow me to
restore it..for some reason. I have no clue what to do.

I also tried the page Carole sent. and it said, Page not found.. I checked
and it won't allow me to get into that site..

Do I "have to restore it".. I can always. if necessary(I think).use my
installation disk.. or boot disk.(but have NO CLUE) how to do this.

Thanks so much ..

Helene
