Normally, if you have only the Restore CD and not the full windows CD, there has to be a source of Windows files in order to add/remove elements of windows. You will usually find the files in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs (or Install). This may well be a hidden folder so you need to have the 'view hidden files' turned on to see it. With those cabs, SFC will have to be directed to that folder to find the files needed. With the Newest of computers, there may be a hidden partition containing that same information.
