Moving the swap file to the end of a disk drive is actually a good thing.
Let's assume the disk drive looks like one long line like:

files -- free space -- swap space

This allows the re-writing of files to take place in the middle area (the
free space) without ever causing a collision with the swap file. The swap
file is free to grow and shrink at the end of the drive.
