For a free WYSIWYG I recommend 1st Page 2000 from Evrsoft http://www.evrsoft.com/1stpage/. It is very capable from beginner to advanced skillsets. It is full of useful wizards, spell checkers, numerous free scripts, and can handle even more advanced web development including ASP (Active Server Pages), CF (Cold Fusion), and SSI (Server Side Includes). It does far more than some very expensive products available. I can never say enough about it.
