A few people have posted for you to replace or at least check
the CMOS battery.  Have you done that?  This is the FIRST
thing you must do before anything else is done.  The BIOS
will loose it's memory (and therefore all settings) if the
battery is bad.  You can still boot the PC up, you just have
go into the BIOS setup every time and reset all the settings
to what they should be for your specific hardware
configuration.  (At least you can with a typical NON NAME
BRAND PC).

Of course you would get any BIOS updates from Tyan's website.
You sound like you might be new to computers so I would
definitely not try and flash the BIOS, and of course it's not
needed if all you need is a new battery.
