Larry, This has happened to me several times before with many different drives and computers. It's not much help now, but you should always use CDR media and CLOSE IT OUT to read in conventional drive with option to write to again latter. This way, the data has a FAR less chance of being corrupted. If you MUST use CDRW media, read it from the CDROM drive so the RW drive cannot screw it up by constantly writing unnecessary "bits" to it.
For now, run the Adaptec 'scan disk' to try and fix the media. Hopefully that will allow it to be read, and placed on a CDR disk. -Clint God Bless Us All Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "LarryB" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I have formatted 3 of these CD RW's in the last year or so and use them to backup data files using MSbackup. I am using win98 2nd. Each of these CD's have developed errors that render the data on them no longer accessible. This is being done on Easy CD Creator 4. I actually get several months worth or backup overwriting each time and using two different computers. TIA LarryB ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
