I'm using a USB modem to connect a network to my DSL line. Your going to
need to put a network card in each PC and then build yourself a two computer
network using either a switch/hub or a direct cable connection. Then you
need to get some sort of internet connection sharing software running on
your Win98 PC. I'm using a program called Sygate although there are many
others out there. I believe Win98SE has built-in internet connection
sharing software. I may be wrong on that. I don't have a Win98 install
anymore to check that and if it does have it, it may not handle sharing a
usb modem connection. It sounds like a complex project but it is really
pretty easy once you get your home network built.
