The *BEST* uninstall program? Things like the Windows ME "restore" utility, and the same for XP and 2K (if theirs works, I've never used it), and software like "Go Back" and similar. These are not uninstall programs, these are methods that enable you to take a 'snapshot' of your HD before installing something, and go back to it when you want to remove it. Now if you want to uninstall something that has been installed for a long time, THEN you would need an uninstall program and someone else will have to give you info on them from personal experience.
I think I might know why you're asking. I've NEVER seen any vendor's "self installed" uninstaller work correctly (uninstall shield wizard, and the like). They always manage to leave behind tons of garbage files and a messed up registry. What I have come to do is NEVER install anything unless I'm POSITIVE I'm going like it and to be using it. I always use ME's "restore" function BEFORE I install something in case it's screwed up, corrupt, or whatever the case may be I can 'restore' to the previous state. If that can't be avoided (too much time has elapsed), then I just leave it alone unless it's causing problems. -Clint Happy Holidays to all & God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner Want to exchange links with us? http://OrpheusComputing.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lee Ross" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> PCWorkers, At long last I'm in the market for a good uninstall program. I've looked several places online at dozens of programs. Does anyone have any input in helping me make this decision?
