Yeah, I discovered that Clint early this morning :(

The board is a BCM 5598 with the SiS chipset with the 66 mhz bus. It is a highly limited board but still quite functional. However if my friend wants XP he's going to have to build a new system.

Thanks,

What's the model # on the mobo?

If that's the 66mhz FSB K6-2 300, the board may only go up to
333mhz. If it's the 100mhz bus K6-2 300, it may go up to faster
100mhz bus CPU's (350mhz +).

I have a friend's Packard Bell 750C computer. The hard drive has gone south and is being replaced but my friend would like to upgrade it from it's K62 300 mhz to a 450 or 500 mhz and to increase the memory as well.

It uses 72 pin EDO presently.

Does anyone have specs for this system, namely memory limits or
BIOS update.
