To positively identify your Award bios, forget everything else and just download Detect.com which was put out by Award and will tell you exactly what you need to know. It's just 16 kbs or so. http://k7jo.de/tools/bioswizard/detect.com
Once downloaded, double click it and it will produce 2 files - bios.bin and bios.txt Open bios.txt and you will see exactly what you have. Here's an example output from one of my computers: BIOS Date: 03/28/00 BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG BIOS ID: 03/28/2000-i440ZX-W977-2A69KS2KC-00 BIOS Eval: IZA-2CA1 Chipset: Intel 440BX/ZX rev 3 Superio: Winbond 977EF rev 4 found at port 3F0h hth vic http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WinTips-Tricks/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2003 8:50 AM Subject: Re: PCWorks: Award BIOS Upgrade > I think I better let things alone.
