Larry, I would look and see if the printer port is listed in the device manager, and if not, I would re-install it thru add/remove hardware in the control panel.

Now when we look at printers the Epson 640 is dimmed and when I go to device manager and choose ports I do not see the LPT1. I have tried capture to no avail and I am not sure if the port is defective all of a sudden or what. I also disconnected the port from the back of the computer which also did not help. I also reinstalled the drivers for the Epson 640 which also did not help. I will change the cable next. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this. It worked the day I installed it.
