Sending again..(Sorry Marlene.. I was one of the ones. who forget to
take off the bottom.. So Sorry..)
Hi Ben..
When I go to bookmarks, in Netscape. and edit. and file. in the file..
there is no - save as.. Thats the problem.. That would be easy. :-)
There used to be.. in the older version of Netscape.. but not Netscape
7.0.. So, thats wherein the problem lies. I've tried and can't copy
these bookmarks to anything.. SIGH..
So, looks like when I get my new computer.(btw. yesterday, I got a
package from Dell. ,, Just the internal floppy.). but when I saw it
was Airborne. I was all excited.. :-) Computer isn't going to be
shipped till the 17th.. ..
Anyway, when the new computer arrives,, I'll just have to type in all
my bookmarks.. and probably my address book too.. unless by some
miracle. I can figure this out.
Harold.. if you're out there, in Sunny BKLYN.. (I'm on Long Island)..
give a yell.. I could use your help if you're using Netscape.. :-)
I have a boot disc for Windows 98.. So when I "clean out this
computer"..(do you know of any program. that will clean it out(either
in Norton- or anywhere else). Something - mainly to get rid of my
emails. and cookies(that I have a program for).. but mainly for the
emails. etc.. If you can suggest a program. I'd appreciate it.
Then when I clean out the computer. .then I can just "format".?? with
the windows boot disc?? and then the computer will be "good to go"??
I have a question.. If you clean out the computer.. of as much as you
can. and you get rid of all the programs you have. and you're
'starting from scratch" so to speak.. Doesn't that 'give you back.
Ram??"". or is that entirely a different thing.??
Also, if you take out the battery-- and then put it back in.. Does
THAT?? do anything, as far as getting rid of data and info on the
computer..
I remember, someone.. a long while back, talked about the battery, and
bios(??). and that gets rid of everything.. Or am I mistaken??
Thanks.. for all your help.

Someone else is going to have to help you with Netscape. I don't have it.
Surely, someone on the list can help you. Doesn't Harold run Netscape? I
imagine there is an option in Netscape mail to export the address book.
Google is a good resource for Netscape instructions. I just found this page
by typing in "save favorites Netscape"
http://www.uvsc.edu/helpdesk/faq/browsers/bookmarks.html
If you have files that are fairly large that you want to move and it would
take too many floppies, you could always use something like Yahoo briefcase.
http://briefcase.yahoo.com/ You can upload and store up to 30 MB there.
Then when you get the new machine set up you can download it.
You need to make a boot disk for Win98. To format your hard drive you have
to boot from the disk to a dos prompt and then you just type in the command.
I think you said that your brother or someone was going to reinstall Win98.
You could have him format you hard drive. He need to do it anyway before he
reinstalls.
