You're going to have to come up with better subject lines that
just "question" and "new question". It's obvious you have a
question or you would not be posting, right? Please take note
of the new subject line.

You don't mention was OS you are using. Always state which one
you are using. You also don't state which CD burning programs
you are currently using. XP has software built in to write to
CDR's. Different CD burning software has different ways of
using it (especially XP's version), hence the need to know what
you are currently using.

Thank you to Keith and Gerry for the answers to the thumbs.db
question. Much
appreciated.

I have another query.

I have a cd burner on my computer. I've used it with several
different
programs for making music CDs with no problem (all of the
programs came with
my computer). And on my laptop I have a program that I can
make data CDs.
None of the programs I have on my desktop seem to be able to
make data disks.
Do I have to have a program? It seems to me like I do,
because the computer
isn't reading that I have a blank CD in the drive. I want to
back up some
larger folders onto CDs instead of zip, and am a little
frustrated at not
being able to.

Can anyone recommend a good, but value priced program?

Thanks so much!

Lori
