To add to what Ben said......that is a hidden and protected file, so if you recently changed your Folder Options to "show hidden files" and/or "show protected system files" that's why you see it now. -Clint

You really shouldn't try to delete anything until you identify it. Google is a great source for identifying files. Just type in the file name. The swp file or swap file is part of the virtual memory system for your computer. I think it's been there for more than a few days and you just noticed it. You would have to delete it from dos and then it would be recreated the next time you booted into windows. Ben Moore ----- Original Message ----- From: "knightwriter" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > There is a file under c drive named win386, under properties it says swp file. I do not know why this is here or where it came from. It has under created, unknown. Accessed, unknown. No date, however it has only been there a few days. I am trying to delete it and the box unable to delete, you do not have access to this file. File may be in use. I have searched through the registry but nothing comes up there. I want to delete it, what can you do to delete a file that is stubborn. Thank you, Sandy ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
