Just turn off the alert notifications in Zone Alarm. It will still alert you about outgoing stuff. I look at my log periodically but rarely do anything about it. I did just send a message to an ISP in Germany where some fool had been scanning every port in the 40000 to 60000 range on my computer for a couple of days but otherwise it's pretty futile worrying about it.
