Hi Again Terry, Have you tried this (from Epson website)?
Q: Is there a way to determine if a problem is caused by the computer or printer? A: You can run a printer operation check to determine whether the problem comes from the printer itself or some other source. If the results are satisfactory, the problem lies in your software settings, the interface cable, or your computer. If the check page does not print correctly, you have a problem with your printer. Please see the following suggestions for possible solutions. - Make sure both the printer and computer are turned off. - Disconnect the interface cable from the printer. - Make sure paper is loaded in the printer. - Hold down the Maintenance button and press and release the power button. - Continue holding down the Maintenance button until the Power light starts to flash, then release it. The printer prints its ROM version number and a nozzle check pattern. If the check page doesn't print, then the printer may have a problem which needs to be serviced. - To end the check, turn off the printer. Then reconnect the interface cable and turn on your printer and computer. Also, you don't say if it's parallel or USB? You said you re-installed the software that came with it..is there a newer driver on the website? If so, I would certainly try that as well. Can't you just scream at darn printers?? I have one, a brother mfc4800 laser, which is networked. It works fine if I only want to print one copy thru the network...but more than that; no dice. So if you (or anyone else) runs across info about my problem, I'm all ears :-) Best Regards, Marlene -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Terry L. Clark Sent: Wednesday, December 17, 2003 1:59 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: PCWorks: Epson 820 Misprints & Ejects Paper At work we have an Epson Stylus Photo 820 printer which is mainly used for printing envelopes. However, it does put out great color pages when it's working right. Unfortunately, on color print jobs, it prints out 1/5th of the page, then proceeds to eject blank sheets of paper until it runs out of paper and the print job can be canceled. I have tried reinstalling the software that came with the printer after deleting all references to the software using Find and after going through the Windows Registry and deleting all references to the software). Cutting off all power to the printer--yes, including disconnecting the printer cable--is likewise to no avail. Epson's website was of no help. The computer is an eMachines (sigh, the owner is cheap, I know) running Windows XP. Any ideas? Thanks In Advance, Terry --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
