Hi Marlene, Thanks for the help, no luck so far.
The printer is hooked to the computer through the parallel port. There are no updated drivers for the motherboard or any of the eMachine components (on eMachine's site, anyhow). The printer operation check went fine, printing the ROM version and check pattern. I downloaded the latest printer driver from Epson's website, still no joy. I can take a few more shots at the Registry with some of the Registry cleaning programs, perhaps they'll catch something I haven't. Thank you so much for your time and research, I'll keep you posted.
